Off topic, but as for the showboating: it did bother me because it /was/ in Detroit and the fans were all stoked as fuck about their streak. But. Sucks now because no one knows as well as Van fans do that they’re not really malicious assholes. Bah.
I’ll admit that it didn’t bother me at the time because I was too busy being ecstatic to be sensitive, but in retrospect, yeah, it certainly would’ve pissed me off if it had been our streak broken, and Lu/Burr should have toned it down a little. But it’s REALLY HARD for me to say that because I love seeing our guys celebrate. Lu always does a big celebration when he wins a shootout, anyway… but that’s a feeble excuse.
I liked the mutual-respect thing we had going with Detroit. I hope, Jimmy Howard aside, it’s still somewhat intact.
